Ayr Utd has paid tribute to its outgoing chairman, Russell Shaw, who has retired after more than a decade with the club. Shaw leaves on an incredible high after the club completed a remarkable treble this season. As well as becoming Strathclyde Evangelical Churches Football League (SECFL) Premier Division champions for the first time, Ayr Utd also claimed Atholl Cup and Fraser Trophy glory. In doing so, they became only the second side in SECFL history to win three competitions in one campaign. Russell Shaw has been a stalwart for Ayr Utd for 12 years, and his outstanding service will be remembered by the club and its fans. During his time with the club, Shaw went above and beyond his duties as chairman, managing the accounts, undertaking secretarial duties, and even contributing on the field at times as an emergency player. The club has thanked Shaw for his dedication and wishes him a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.
