Ayr United Football Club has unveiled plans for a new wellness and recovery destination at Somerset Park, the club's home stadium. The project, developed in partnership with wild ritual, aims to provide a unique space for athletes and the wider community to recover and connect. Located next to the football club's training facilities and Soul Padel, the wellness club will operate seven days a week and feature one of Scotland's largest outdoor saunas, commercial-grade ice baths, recovery zones, spaces for movement and stillness, a healthy café, and a programme of guided rituals and community events. The space will offer a neutral environment for post-activity connection and recovery, catering to clubs, teams, and individuals alike. Matt Innes, founder of wild ritual, said: 'We started on the Ayrshire coast with a simple idea, that recovery, connection, and wellbeing should be part of everyday life, not occasional luxury.' The proposals are understood to have been submitted to South Ayrshire Council's planning department.
